The Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pat Maher at 6:03 p.m. (The
audio recorder was turned on.) The group in attendance Pledged their Allegiance
to the Flag.
The Wyoming, Illinois City Council met Monday, January 27, 2020 at City Hall,
located at 108 E. Williams Street, in a Regular Session. Mayor Maher was presiding
with Aldermen Ryan Breese and Dave Lindahl of the Second Ward, and Aldermen
Daniel Hardman and Steve Hansard of the Third Ward. Absent was Alderwomen
Ginger Carlisle and Kathy Hardy, both of the First Ward.
Public Discussion & Visitor’s Comments: There was no public discussion at this
City Superintendent Joe Kinsella: Sealed bids for the purchase of the GMC dump
truck were opened by Mayor Maher. There were two bids total. The first bid was from
Wyoming Livestock Sales c/o Carl Brittingham, whose offer was $4,800. The second
bid was from Streitmatter Land Improvement c/o Joe & Jackie Streitmatter, whose
offer was $4,950. Paperwork will be drawn up for the sale to Streitmatter’s.
Joe discussed replacing light bulbs at the maintenance building, and presented two
proposals. One proposal was for outside lighting at a cost of $50, and the other was
for replacing lighting inside the shed at a cost of $755. Joe recommended only
replacing the outside light. Motion was made by Ald. Breese to just replace the
outside light. Motion was seconded by Ald. Lindahl. Roll call votes all ayes, and the
Regarding the water leak at the sale barn, Joe estimated this could be a 30,000
gallon a day leak, and the leak is between the curb stop and meter. Joe has talked to
Chase Anderson, and Chase advised he will fix the leak. Council recommended 10
days maximum to fix or it will be shut off.
Mayor and Alderperson’s:
Mayor Maher introduced Diane Baker to the council for the position of Deputy City
Clerk, replacing Julie Maher. Ald. Hansard made the motion to hire Diane full-time
starting immediately. Ald. Hardman seconded the motion. Roll call vote all ayes and
the motion carried.
Motion to Adjourn was made by Ald. Lindahl and seconded by Ald. Hansard. Voice
votes all ayes and the
meeting adjourned at 6:24 p.m.
